The entire concept baffles me; the fact you feel it netcessary to have Police stationed permanently at a school.
I don't know if that happens nationwide or not. Fairfax County (where i live) is one of the wealthiest counties in the country, so I assume paying for essenitally armed guards at school isn't an issue, which is odd in a way since there seems to be little violence of any sort until you get into DC, which is a 30 minute drive from here.
SE DC is riddled with crime, drugs and shootings. People die because they ae caught in crossfire between two gangs, and because the houses here are made of aluminium siding and plaster board, the bullets go straight through and kill residenents.

To be fair VH, any school that's named after that godawful commie poet, Langston Hughes, deserves to be shot to pieces.Obviously after the kids have been evacuated.
I'd actually advocate using weapons that are far above the NRA's pay-grade.

Here in very sleepy Northern Viriginia my son goes to a 'middle school' called Langston Hughes. Thar's the 7th/8th grade, or 13/14.The High School, South Lakes, is physically next door.
Both schools have armed Police, complete with squad cars, permanently patrolling the school. Entry to the school is through a secure front door that can only be opened by school staff.
